In a recent vote, the Vidalia Board of Education has elected to join a state program called REACH.
REACH stands for Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen. It combines school and state funds to provide tuition money to students who perform well in high school. The money, which amounts to $2,500 per year per student, aims to help provide them with opportunities to pursue degree at community, technical, or four-year colleges.
Every year, five students will be entered into the program based on academic success.
