Tyre Bridge Road at the Appling/Pierce county line should be open to traffic on Thursday, February 23. The Industrial Company (TIC) is working to finalize the bridge replacement project and open the bridges over the Big Satilla Creek and Big Satilla Creek Overflow.
This $5.2 million contract work on this double bridge construction project required a detour placed in late May 2016 to ensure the traveling public’s safety, decrease project cost and mitigate wetland impact. Once the bridges are open Pierce County will remove the detour.
