Sunday June 15, 2014 two people were life-flitted from a head-on wreck on Ga. 84 in Liberty County involving an Appling County Sheriff's Office employee.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a transport officer for the Appling County Sheriff's Office crossed into the eastbound lanes of Ga. 84 around 6PM while traveling back from dropping off a transfer at the Georgia Regional Medical Center. He hit a PT Cruiser head-on.
The sheriff's office employee was taken to Memorial by ambulance where he underwent surgery.
A pregnant woman was driving the PT Cruiser. She is currently listed in stable condition at Memorial University Medical Center. A male passenger in the Cruiser is listed in critical condition. Both were flown from the scene.
The identities of the three parties involved have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
