Appling County 4-H BB Gun Team Recieves Nationals Placing

Congratulations to the 4-H BB gun team, the BullDawgs, who placed 16th out of 51 teams at the Daisy National BB Competition in Roger, Arkansas July 4, 2014 weekend.
Those who competed from Baxley were- Josh Barlow, Hailey Cortes, Cole Gardener, Madysen McLellan, Gabe Music, and Matthew Sutton.
Area high school students were selected to participate in the 2014 Washington Youth Tour, sponsored by Satilla REMC and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Mary Benfield, Haven Hutchinson, Cole Madray, Aubrie Anna Smith along with over 1,500 youth from across nation convened at the nation’s capital June 12-19, 2014. Read More >>
On Wednesday June 25, 2014, Appling County Hospital served as host for local physicians to meet with representatives from the Atlanta area and receive assistance. The specific driving force for the Rural Physicians Bus Tour is to bring health information technology resources directly to physicians, practice managers, and health information technology staff.

The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission is providing technical and financial help to livestock and poultry operations in the Altamaha River Basin to complete and update their Nutrient Management Plans.
