50 Years for Crimes They Didn't Commit

Michael Anthony Green is expected to be released today on bond after spending 27 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Late last week, another Texas inmate, Allen Wayne Porter, was also released after prosecutors determined he had been wrongfully convicted of a crime for which he had already served 19 years in prison. Credit is being given to the Post Conviction Review Section, a group of lawyers assembled by Harris County District Attorney Patricia Lykos.
