Hi everyone, it's Wild Bill I have been in Country Radio for the past 12 years. I've worked up and down the dial all over the country from South Dakota, Vermont, Michigan, Indiana to Minnesota. I've worked mornings on Z-94 back in 2004 and then took a morning show job in Columbus GA in 2005. I worked for Country station WKCN and stayed there for 2 years. I married my lovely wife Marilyn just over the Georgia border. Marilyn is from a little town called Smith Station, Alabama. I also became good friends with Alan Dupriest in Columbus GA while working with him in radio. I did the unthinkable, I left the south and moved to Mankato Minnesota and worked for country station KYSM for 4 years. My daughter Emma Elizabeth was born in Minnesota in 2008 and she is the love of our lives. It sure is nice to be back home in Georgia being close to Family and friends. I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with all of you!
LeAnn Rimes enters treatment for stress, denies it is for drugs or an eating disorder
Country singer LeAnn Rimes has voluntarily entered treatment to cope with anxiety and stress, according to a report from People magazine.
"LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and
stress," her rep Marcel Pariseau tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. "While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
Rimes checked in Wednesday, the day after her 30th birthday. Her rep tells
People that she is hoping to learn better coping mechanisms to deal with the
life she’ll be returning to.
"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take
care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman
I can be," she says.
"All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you
know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much,"
she adds.
"I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."
Rimes’ husband Eddie Cibrian says he fully supports his wife’s
decision and called her “the most remarkable and courageous woman
I know.”
"I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself,”
he added. “I will be with her every step of the way."
Rimes’ rep, who acknowledged that the star has been criticized for her
thin frame in the past, is not entering treatment for an eating disorder,
nor for substance abuse.
Her treatment facility has allowed Rimes to continue to tour on the
weekends, so as not to “disappoint her fans.” She is gearing up to
release her next album, “Spitfire.”
Nick Marlowe, a grieving husband from Lead Hill, Ark., got an unexpected boost from country star Jake Owen this month. Now Marlowe's tragic story is being heard around the world, reports KY3.
Marlowe recently lost his 20-year-old wife, Kristin, when she had a stroke during childbirth. Kristin Marlowe worked at State Farm Insurance and enjoyed horses, swimming, basketball and cave-exploring, according to a KHOZ Radio obituary. "She always loved helping people and chose to be an organ donor upon her death," the obit read.
Both Nick and Kristin were big Jake Owen fans. But Nick heard Owen's song "Anything For You" for the first time shortly after her death. The lyrics include: "Tell me you want it, baby, that's all you've gotta do, I'll do anything for you."
Marlowe was so moved that he wrote to Owen on Facebook. "Thank you for your music that kept my chin up and for the laughs and smiles your music gave my beautiful wife," Marlowe posted. [See the full text of the message below.]
Marlowe picked the right guy to whom he could express his sorrow. Owen, married in May with a baby on the way, had recently voiced his strong thoughts on finding a soul mate. "When you get married to someone, you marry them because they're your best friend and you share your life with them," he told theboot.com. "What's better than having your best friend go everywhere with you?"
The singer was so crestfallen by Marlowe's message that he shared Marlowe's letter on Twitter and told fans to say a prayer for Marlowe in a video chat.
"It absolutely ripped me up when I saw [the message], knowing what I'm going through right now with my wife," Owen said in KY3's report.
People from around the world have showered him with gifts and condolences, Marlowe told the station. "I just want everybody to know that you've got to be grateful for the things that God gives you. .. You never know when something like this can happen."
Thankfully, uplifting news has emerged in Marlowe's heartbreaking saga. A posting on Prayers For The Marlowe Family's Facebook page reported recently that Marlowe's son Trennon, who was born seven weeks premature when Kristin had an emergency Caesarian section Aug. 8, "is almost up to five pounds and will be coming home sometime next week!"
Jake, posting on Facebook seems silly to me right now, knowing your probably never going to see this. I recently lost my young beautiful wife to a stroke while she was giving birth to our beautiful baby boy. We use to ride around in my Jeep and I'd sing 8 second ride to her and replace truck with Jeep and she'd laugh so hard. The doctors said it was the medicine that was making her feel funny. I was rubbing her neck when her vitals dropped. They rushed her out of the room and I dropped to my knees and started screaming to God to take me instead. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to give my life for hers. I turned on Pandora just now and of course it was set to Jake Owen radio. Your song "Anything for you" played as the first song. I was walking out of the hospitals front doors listening to that song. I can't thank God enough for that song. I'm not asking for a returned message. All I ask is you share my story and share her beautiful life. I pray you look at your significant other and let them know you love them and you would give your life for them. Thank you for your music that kept my chin up and for the laughs and smiles your music gave my beautiful wife. Thanks Jake.

BYOT Letter by wildbill,posted Aug 13 2012 10:32AM
Got an interesting email from South Georgia mom Donna on BYOT. Read her email and tell me what you think!
***POST BELOW***
Ok so I officially don't like the BYOT “Bring Your own technology” for the schools systems this year!!!! All I've seen is status updates on facebook and twitter from students during school hours.....and that means kids are not learning.
First off, I dont' see sending my daughter to school with something that is probably gonna get stolen. Then "I" would end up being the one buying another one.....not the thief or school or govt or anyone else!
Where does all the grant money from the state go to? Just for salaries? What happened to providing what you need through the money from the state and our taxes for technology?
Why are we doing BYOT only to exacerbate the problem of kids spending time on social media instead of doing work in the classroom?
I’m not targeting one particular school so for the sake of argument I’m Donna from South GA.
Miranda Lambert is a big fan of the reality show Toddlers in Tiaras, so it's no surprise that she'd like its spin-off, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. She tweeted, "And TLC wins again with another show I am hooked on...'A dolla makes me holla Honey Boo Boo!'" However, Blake was not impressed with the show, about a beauty pageant princess and her redneck family. He voiced his opinion on Twitter: "Just watched Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. And now here comes runny doo doo."
GOT A TON OF PHONE CALLS ON THIS!!! TAKE A LISTEN!!!
What do you think of Honey Boo Boo?
Fan or Foe of the show?
Randy Travis Popped for DWI After Single-Car Crash
Law enforcement sources tell us ... Travis was charged with "retaliation" because he verbally threatened a cop during the bust.
Country singer Randy Travis was arrested last night in Texas on suspicion of DWI after crashing his car, TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Randy was arrested around 11:59PM with minor cuts and bruises.
He was also booked on a "retaliation and obstruction" charge ... a felony.
Randy's car was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Other details surrounding Randy's arrest are unclear. Randy is still in custody.
It's the singer's 2nd arrest this year -- back in February, Randy was busted for public intoxication for allegedly boozing in front of a Baptist church.
According to the police report, Randy said he had just gotten into a fight with his girlfriend.
