06-29-14---Answered a call to Veal Camp Road in reference to Criminal Damage to Property.  Complainant stated her ex-husband went to her residence cut the power supply to her freezer and pool. Also cut a hole in the bottom of the pool. Complainant was advised of legal action that could be taken.
 
07-04-14---Answered a call to Hatch Parkway South in reference to a Domestic.
Complainant stated her husband had tried to do physical harm to her. Husband was not at the residence when officer arrived.  Complainant was advised of legal action to take.
 
07-05-14---Answered a call to Sandy Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated his ex-wife went into his residence and had stolen several items.  Complainant was advised of legal action that could be taken.
 
07-06-14---Answered a call to Poor Robin Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. One injury was transported to Appling ER for treatment.
 
07-06-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 121 in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated unknown person(s) had kicked in the door to the residence and gained entry. Taken was a 42” Hitachi TV and a Dell Computer. Investigation continues.
 
07-06-14—Answered a call to Deen’s Landing/AMI Institute in reference to Vandalism. Buildings were damaged and air condition units were stolen. Investigation led to three juveniles being interviewed and were told be present at Juvenile Court. Janice Elaine Gay age 41 of Baxley was arrested and Joseph Edward Baxley age 17 was arrested. Gay and Baxley were charged with Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree.
 
07-06-14---Answered a call to K Ville Hwy. in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated he found where someone had gone into his residence and stolen the air condition and several other items.  Investigation continues.
 
07-06-14---Answered a call to Buck Williams Road in reference to a Fight in Progress which led to the arrest of Dianna Irene Bugely age 40 of Baxley and Samantha Marie Bugely age 22 of Baxley. Both were charged with Simple Battery.
 
07-07-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Scam.  Complainant stated he received notice in the mail he had won a million dollars and in order to receive the funds he had to send $1,200.00. Complainant complied and now cannot get anyone to answer his calls.
 
07-07-14---A routine traffic stop on Brobston Street led to the arrest of Jacqueline Nicole Taylor age 27 of Baxley and Matthew Luke Selph age 25 of Denton. Taylor was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Selph was charged with Making a False Statement Pertaining to Motor Vehicle Insurance, Possession of Drug Related Objects and Expired Driver’s License.
 
07-07-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft. Complainant stated missing from her residence is a 20 cu. Ft., silver refrigerator valued at $1,350.00. Investigation continues.
 
07-07-14---Answered a call to Oak Dale Motel in reference to a Dispute. Complainant stated she and her boyfriend had a verbal dispute when the dispute came physical. Boyfriend was not at the scene when officer arrived. 
 
07-07-14---Answered a call to Oak Dale Motel in reference to Stolen Checks. Complainant stated a clerk at a local convenience store had notified him a subject was trying to cash one of his checks. Complainant realized four checks had been stolen from his check book.  Investigation led to warrants being secured for the arrest of Joseph Michael Poulin and Heather Poulin of Oakland Maine. 
 
07-08-14---Answered a call to Deen’s Landing in reference to Missing Property. Complainant stated missing from her residence is a 38 Hammerless silver Smith & Wesson pistol. Investigation continues.
 
07-08-14---Answered a call to Lamar Crosby Road in reference to Threats, Harassing Text Messages. Complainant stated a subject continues to make threats and harassing text messages towards her.  Complainant was advised of legal action she could take.
 
07-09-14---Answered a call to Appling ER in reference to an Assault that occurred at Buck Head Road. Complainant came to seek medical treatment he stated he received during a physical altercation. Complainant was advised of legal action he could take.
 
07-10-14---Answered a call to Smith Lane in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant stated she was renting a mobile home and was moving out.  Complainant discovered her things had been put in the yard by her land lord.   

07-10-14---Answered a call to US #1 North in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
07-11-14---Answered a call to Sarah Baker Lane in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated his girlfriend had stolen a 2001 Ford that belonged to his boss. Vehicle was found as well as subject and passenger of vehicle. Owner of vehicle was notified and came to claim the vehicle. Owner also stated he would press charges for stolen vehicle. Andrea Denise Flukner age 37 of Baxley and Rhonda Joe Crosby age 46 of Baxley were both arrested.
 
07-11-14---Answered a call to Sweetwater Drive in reference to a Theft.  Complainant, Manager of Pellet Mill stated unknown person(s) entered the plant and stole approximately $4,000.00 worth of brass during the night. Investigation continues.
 
07-12-14---Answered a call to Mullis Road/Odum in reference to a Farm Accident.
Victim was found by a witness apparently trying to pull up a dead tree by the roots with a tractor when it overturned falling on the victim Daniel Heath Hooper age 33 of Odum. Appling EMS, Appling Rescue, Fourth District Fire Department and Appling Co. Sheriff’s Office responded. Coroner Jared Murphy was notified.
 
07-12-14---Answered a call to Buck Head Road in reference to a Fight with Shots Fired which led to the arrest of Melissa Creamer age 43 of Baxley and Mindy Jo Blanton age 21 of Baxley. Creamer was charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault, Blanton was charged with Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree.

Citizens, please beware of telephone calls stating they are with IRS or Social Security asking for your personal information, threatening legal action if you do not respond.  Also People are receiving calls about failing to appear for Duty Court. Caller is identifying themselves as an Appling County Deputy and to purchase a money card and call the number back to them.  Do not comply with these type calls, they are SCAMS!!!
 
06-27-14---Answered a call to McKinney Lane in reference to an Aggravated Assault. Complainant stated a subject had entered her home tied her hands with cords and wanted her to perform sex acts on him. Complainant managed to escape and ran to her land lord’s residence for help.  Offender left in complainant’s vehicle.  Bolo was entered on stolen vehicle and was recovered at a different location. Complainant gave a description of offender. Appling County Investigators along with GBI are working on the case. Investigation continues.
 
06-25-14---Answered a call to Blackshear Hwy. in reference to an Assault. Complainant stated a co-worker had hit him. Complainant was advised legal action he could take.
 
06-27-14---Answered a call to Altamaha School Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-27-14---Answered a call to Kennedy Road in reference to Trespassing. Complainant stated subjects were riding four-wheelers on her property. Signs were posted and have been removed.
 
06-28-14---Answered a call to Gibbs Street/Surrency in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated an acquaintance of hers came to her residence and assaulted her, took her food from her refrigerator and left. Complainant was advised of legal action to take.
 
06-28-14---Answered a call to Morris Landing Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-28-14---Answered a call to Dub Baxley Road in reference to Littering. Complainant stated she saw a subject throw a bag of trash on to her yard. A check stub was found in the garbage and citation is being issued to subject for littering.
 
06-28-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 1 North in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-29-14---Answered a call to Eason Landing Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-29-14---Answered a call to Pat Lewis Road in reference to a Vehicle Fire. Complainant stated his vehicle caught on fire. Baxley Red Oak Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
 
06-30-14---A routine traffic stop on County Farm Road led to the arrest of Bryan Jamal King age 31 of Surrency, Joshua Lee Medders age 25 of Baxley and Neil Curtis Turner age 20 of Baxley. All were charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 1 oz.
 
06-30-14---Answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to a Dispute. Complainant stated she let a subject borrow her GPS and will not return it.  Complainant was advised of legal action that could be taken.
 
06-30-14---Answered a call to Daisy Lane in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated someone had climbed through a window and stolen her X-Box with four controllers, two games and two memory cards valued at $500.00.  Investigation continues.
 
07-02-14---Answered a call to Sandy Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated someone had stolen his 14’ John Boat valued at approximately $250.00.  Investigation continues.
 
07-02-14---Answered a call to Dunn’s Lake Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated a family member had stolen 25 lbs. of aluminum cans and also US currency in the amount of $100.00. Investigation led to warrants being secured for the arrest of Ashton Taylor age18 of  Baxley.
 
07-03-14---Answered a call to VP Lynch Road in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of William Andrew Smith age 23 of Baxley and Johnny Lee  Benniger age 26 of Baxley. Both were charged with Disorderly Conduct.
 
07-04-14---Answered a call to Daisy Lane in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated his “Black 7 RCA” tablet valued at $80.00 was missing from his residence. No sign of forced entry was found.  Investigation continues.
 
07-04-14---Answered a call to John Lewis Lane in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated a subject was working on her 1996 Ford Explorer to be repaired three weeks ago. Complainant stated the vehicle is now missing and the subject refuses to return the vehicle to her. Investigation continues.

RAFFLES MAY BE ILLEGAL
Ga. Law 16-12-221 states that raffles have to be approved by the Sheriff.  This is a simple procedure.  This notice is not to discourage any one trying to help a worthy cause or person. This is to let the public know that you are not being scammed. If you wish to hold a raffle call the Sheriff’s Office and you will be advised of the procedure to take.
 
06-20-14---Answered a call to McKinney Lane in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated someone had gone into her residence and stolen several items valued at $465.00.  Investigation continues.
 
06-20-14---Answered a call to Hoppy Trail in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated unknown subject had entered her residence and took her 46” Sanyo TV. No sign of forced entry was noted.  Investigation continues.
 
06-21-14---Answered a call to Fair Street in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated he loaned his chainsaw to a subject and found his chainsaw at a local pawn shop. Chainsaw recovered and returned to owner.  Investigation continues.
 
06-21-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report possible Child Abuse. Report was taken by an Investigator and DFAC’s was notified. Investigation continues.
 
06-21-14---Answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to a vehicle fire. Vehicle was found unattended, a rag had been stuck in the gas tank.  Investigation continues as arson.
 
06-21-14---Answered a call to Nail Mobley road in reference to a one vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 203 in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Clifton Road in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated she and subject had a verbal dispute and asked the subject to leave the residence. Subject left and took her dog when he left. Complainant was advised of legal action she could take.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to SR 4 in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Gardenia Circle in reference to a Domestic between mother and son. Both parties were advised of legal action they could take.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Perry Road in reference to an Unresponsive Subject.
Joey Bill Perry age 50 of Baxley was found to be deceased by a family member.  Coroner and Investigator were notified.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 15 in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Hutcheson Road in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of Willie Thomas Rogers age 25 of  Lyons, Deborah Ann Hughes age 41 of Baxley and Madison Coreena Hughes age 20 of Baxley. All three were charged with Simple Battery.
 
06-22-14---Answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a Burglary.  Complainant stated someone entered her residence and took her ring valued at $10,000.00.  Investigation continues.
 
06-23-14---Answered a call to Orvin Road in reference to a Burglary.  Complainant stated someone had entered his residence and took three of his guns valued at approximately $1,500.00.  Guns were entered into GCIC. Investigation continues.
 
06-23-14---Answered a call to Hatch Parkway in reference to a Domestic. Complainant and her ex-husband got into a dispute over their vehicle. Ex-husband took the vehicle and left the residence.
 
06-23-14---Answered a call to Mae Lane in reference to a Domestic. Husband and wife had a verbal dispute. Husband agreed to leave the residence for the night.
 
06-23-14---Answered a call to an accident on Morris road. Three subjects were taken to Appling ER.
 
 06-24-14---Answered a call to Buck Head Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-24-14---Answered a call to Herndon Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated someone had broken into his barn and stolen antique clevis plows, and an antique Model A fan shraw. Investigation continues.
 
06-24-14---A routine traffic stop on Hwy. 15 resulted in the arrest of Jaran Brooks Herrington age 19. Herrington was charged with DUI/Drugs, Possession of Marijuana less than 1 oz., and Failure to Drive Within Single Lane.
 
06-25-14---Answered a call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to Damage to Property.  Complainant stated after church service returning to her vehicle she found her vehicle was keyed on both sides. Investigation continues.
 
06-26-14---An investigation of fraudulent prescription at a local pharmacy led to the arrest of Matthew Ryan Walls age 25 of Baxley. Walls was charged with Fraud in Obtaining a Controlled Substance and Probation Violation.
 
06-26-14---Convicted Felon was found to have in his possession two fire arms which led to the arrest of  William Robert Kelly, Jr. age 50 of Baxley. Kelly was charged with Possession of Arms by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Sawed-Off Shot Gun.
 
06-26-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 15/Surrency in reference to a Burglary. Fire Station door was found to have been pried open and subject(s) gained entry and stole a Husqvarna Chain Saw valued at $500.00.  Investigation continues.
 
06-26-14---Answered a call to a local pawn shop in reference to a Theft/Recovery. Complainant stated she found her missing girl and boys bicycles that had been stolen at a local pawn shop. Investigation continues.

06-14-14---Answered a call to Buck Head road in reference to a Domestic dispute between husband and wife which led to the arrest of Ronald Marion Rowland age 42 of Baxley. Rowland was charged with Disorderly Conduct.
 
06-14-14---Answered a call to Piney Bluff Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-15-14---Answered a call to Addie Lane in reference to a Domestic dispute which led to the arrest of Chelsey Lynn Mathis age 21 of Baxley and Douglas Franklin Errett age 31 of Baxley.  Mathis was charged with Disorderly Conduct. Errett was charged with Simple Battery.
 
06-15-14---Answered a call to McKinney Lane in reference to Harassment.  Complainant stated her ex-boyfriend continues to harass her.
 
06-15-14---Answered a call to Oak Street Extension/Surrency in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of James Darren Crosby age 45 of Surrency and Laurie Lynn McBee age 42 of Surrency.  Crosby was charged with Simple Battery/Family Violence. McBee was charged with Fighting in Public Place.
 
06-16-14---Answered a call to Holt Rentz Road in reference to a Dispute. Complainant stated she and her ex-boyfriend had a dispute over the removal of clothes from a vehicle. 
 
06-16-14---Answered a call to Eula Courson Road in reference to Damage to Property.  Complainant stated a subject was trespassing on her property and drove across her field running over corn and pine trees. Complainant was advised of legal action that could be taken.
 
06-16-14---Answered a call to Holt Rentz Road in reference to a Domestic.
Girlfriend and boyfriend had a verbal dispute.
 
 06-17-14---Answered a call to Lamar Black Road in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of Paula Rae Ogrodoski age 52 of Baxley and Roy Melvin Butler age 52 of Baxley. Both were charged with Simple Battery/Family Violence.
 
 06-17-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Civil Matter. Complainant stated he had a lease to own agreement with a local mobile home dealer. Complainant paid full amount agreed and mobile home dealer would not provide a title or a receipt of final payment. Complainant was advised of legal action he could take.
 
06-17-14---Answered a call to Eula Courson Road in reference to a Dispute.
Subjects were arguing over property items on a goose neck trailer. Subjects settled dispute.
 
06-18-14---A routine traffic stop on Lee Street led to the arrest of Juan Carlos Ramirez age 21 of Baxley. Ramirez was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Driving w/o Headlights when Required.
 
06-18-14---Complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft that occurred on McLeod Circle. Complainant stated someone entered her residence and stole a black lock box containing several items valued at $200.00.  Investigation continues.
 
06-18-14---Answered a call to Spring Branch Church Road in reference to a Theft/Recovery.  Complainant stated he found his father-in-laws boat that had been stolen.  Investigation led to the arrest of Anthony Kirt Bruce age 39 of Baxley, and Dusty Kirt Bruce age 19. Anthony Kirt Bruce was charged with Theft by Conversion and Theft by Deception. Dusty Kirt Bruce was charged with Theft By Deception.
 
06-19-14---Answered a call to Cook Street in reference to a Domestic call which led to the arrest of Vera Elaine Clark age 38 of Baxley. Clark was charged with Simple Battery/Family Violence.

On June 9, 2014 Appling County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Toombs County EMA asking for assistance reference a drowning on the Ohoopee River.  Our volunteer dive team responded.  Our divers were able to recover the body of a thirteen year old male. The search included Toombs, Tattnall, Wayne and Appling Volunteers.
 
06-04-14---Answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated her ex-boyfriend punched her in the face.  Offender was not at the location complainant stated incident occurred and was advised of legal action she could take.
 
06-06-14---A routine traffic stop on Tillman Road led to the arrest of William Dakota Harris age 20 of Waycross, Ga. Harris was charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 0z.
 
06-06-14---Answered a call to Golden Isles East/Surrency in reference to Trespassing. Complainant stated an unwanted subject was on her property.
 
06-07-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft that occurred on Zoar Road. Complainant stated someone entered his residence and stole his Identification cards. 
 
06-07-14---Answered a call to Bill Morris Road in reference to Assault/Threats. Complainant stated a subject had made offensive move toward her with a machete and has made threats toward her. Complainant was advised of legal to take.
 
06-07-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 203 in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated while checking the property of a family member he found taken from the pack house was a garden tiller, push mower, and miscellaneous tools. Also forced entry was gained to the residence but nothing appeared to missing at time of report. Investigation continues.
 
 06-08-14---Answered a call to South Main Street/Surrency in reference to Damage to Property. Landlord stated a tenant of his broke the screen to enter the residence.
 
06-08-14---Answered a call to Carters Bight Landing in reference to Trespassing. Complainant stated subjects had been driving on his property bogging down.
 
06-08-14---Answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-08-14---A routine traffic stop on Zoar Road led to the arrest of William Robert Kelly age 50 of Baxley. Kelly was charged with Drugs to be Kept in Original Container. 
 
06-08-14---Answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated unknown subject (s) entered his residence and stole several PS3 games valued at $40.00 each.  Investigation continues.
 
06-09-14---Answered a call to Gardner Road in reference to Suicide Threat. Officer arrived at residence and found subject stating he wanted to end his life. Subject was transported to Appling ER to be evaluated.
 
06-09-14---Answered a call to Red Dot Road in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated she and her boyfriend had a verbal dispute which led to an altercation. Boyfriend was not at incident location when officer arrived. Complainant was advised of legal action.
 
06-09-14----Answered a call to Jekyll Road in reference to Child Neglect. Complainant stated he believed two children were not being cared for properly by a family member.  Investigation found family member was intoxicated. Mother of children was notified and took custody of children.
 
06-09-14---Answered a call to Red Dot Road in reference to Damage to Property.
Complainant stated her boyfriend broke several personal items and stuck a piece of wood through the living room door of the house.  Boyfriend had left the residence before officer arrived.  Complainant was advised of legal action that could be taken.
 
06-09-14---Answered a call to a local Recycling business in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated subject brought in what was believed to be REA ground wire. Investigation led to warrants being secured for the arrest of Chihara Ewing age 27 of Baxley and Jeremy Brad Nail age 37 of Baxley. Both were charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.
 
06-10-14---Answered a call to Long Branch Road in reference to a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.

06-10-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 169 in reference to a Damaged Vehicle. Complainant stated while traveling on highway a big oak tree fell across his vehicle damaging vehicle.

Complainant stated her pine straw crew left two straw trailers loaded with approximately 1800 bales of pine straw when she returned to get the trailers they had been burned, destroying trailers and straw.  Investigation continues.
 
06-11-14---Answered a call to Elmwood Drive in reference to Damage To Property. Complainant stated someone had thrown rocks at his camper and broke a window. 
 
06-11-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 15 in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-11-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 341 in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated he found that scrap metal valued at $1,800.00 had been stolen from his business. Investigation led to the arrest of Britney Michelle Roberts’s age 25 of Hazlehurst, Ga...  Roberts is charged with Theft by Taking. Investigation continues.

05-24-14---Answered a call to Bowers Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated stolen from her parked vehicle in their yard was a .22 pistol. Pistol was entered into GCIC and Investigation continues.
 
05-29-14---Answered a call to Tupelo Circle in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated her ex-husband came to her residence and made threats towards her. Ex-husband was not at the residence when officer arrived.
 
05-29-14---Answered a call to Valine Miles Road in reference to a Domestic. Two subjects had a verbal dispute. One of the subjects had left the residence before officer arrived.
 
05-29-14---Answered a call to Tim Crosby Road in reference to a Theft.  Complainant stated she believes a family member stole her black wash pot valued at approximately $300.00.  Investigation continues.
 
05-29-14---Answered a call to County Farm Road in reference to Threats. Complainant stated she has boyfriend that has been abusive to her and she no longer wants a relationship with him.
 
05-30-14---A routine traffic stop on Old Surrency Road/ Hwy. 144 led to the arrest of Fernando Comacho Castillio which was found to be wanted by the United States Marshall Service.
 
06-01-14---Answered a call to Jake Moody Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-01-04---Answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated someone had stolen his Honda Rancher 400 – four wheeler valued at $4,500.00.  Investigation from responding officer recovered the four-wheeler. Complainant stated he did not want to press charges for theft or trespassing.  
 
06-02-14---Answered a call Brenda Kay Yawn road in reference to Stalking. Complainant stated a known subject continues to follow her. Complainant was advised of legal action she could take.
 
06-02-14---Answered a call to Hill Top Road in reference to Damage to Property.  Complainant stated unknown person (s) had shot the front window to his work truck that was parked at the edge of the woods. Damage appeared to have been done with a pellet or BB air gun.
 
06-02-14---A fraudulent prescription for Xanax to a local drug store led to the arrest of Lisa Marie Brazell age 33 of Baxley. Brazell was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining a Controlled Substance.
 
06-03-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report Harassment. Complainant stated a female subject continues to harass her at her work place. Complainant was advised of legal action she could take.
 
06-03-14---Answered a call to George Craven Road in reference to a Theft/Illegal Use of Credit Card. Complainant stated her wallet was stolen with all her credit cards, social security card and driver’s license. Complainant called to cancel cards and found that the cards have been used several times.  Investigation led to the arrest of Craig Callaway age 31 of Baxley and Megan Linda Williamson age 27 of Baxley. Callaway was charged with Theft by Taking andten charges for Financial Transaction Card Fraud. Williamson has ten charges for Financial Transaction Card Fraud.
 
06-04-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft. Complainant stated a check was stolen from a mailbox and check was cashed by a subject. Investigation revealed subject that cashed the check was Aushalina Keeler Leggett. Warrants were secured for Leggett with the charges of Theft by Taking and Forgery in the First Degree.
 
06-04-14---Answered a call to MLK Drive in reference to a Scam. Complainant stated an unknown subject stated he was on his way to her home to do some repairs. Complainant did not authorize this company to do repair work at her home. Officer arrived at home and waited for offender to arrive. Offender never arrived.
 
06-04-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report Fraud-Financial Identity. Complainant stated unknown person had filed an income tax-return in his name using his social security number.
 
06-04-14---Answered a call to Graham/Zoar road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
 
06-06-14---Answered a call to Kersey Street in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated missing from his shop is a Dewalt Hammer Drill and Grinder. Investigation led to the arrest of Troy L. Harmon age 38 of Baxley. Harmon was charged with Theft by Taking.

05-21-14---Answered a call to Dyal Road in reference to Recovered Stolen Property.  Complainant stated he found a red Honda UTV off of Ellis Road.  Investigation continues.
 
05-23-14---Answered a call to US #1 in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries reported.
 
05-23-14---Answered a call to Sellers Road in reference to Damage to Property.
Complainant stated unknown person (s) turned on his irrigation pivot system causing it to run causing damage to the pivot system.
 
05-23-14---Answered a call to Spring Branch Road in reference to a Theft.  Complainant stated someone had stolen several pieces of jewelry valued at approximately $4,600 from her residence.  Investigation continues.
 
05-23-14---Answered a call to Russell Road in reference to a one – vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
05-24-14---Answered a call to Spring Branch Road in reference to a Theft.  Complainant stated he took his boat to a subject to be worked on in February and also gave subject money to work on the boat.  Subject refuses to return phone calls and complainant also found the motor from his boat was missing.  Complainant was advised of legal action he could take.
 
05-24-14---Answered a call to Half Moon Lake in reference to Attempted Suicide.
Subject was found to have taken an over dose of medication. Appling EMS transported subject to Appling ER for medical treatment.
 
 
05-24-14---Answered a call to Blackshear Hwy. in reference to a Civil Dispute. Complainant let a subject use her name and driver’s license to obtain insurance on a motorcycle. And now wants subject to cancel the insurance but he refuses.
 
 
05-24-14---Answered a call to Doc McTier Road in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated missing from her residence is her X-Box, Dell Lap Top Computer and Tablet.  Investigation led to the arrest of James Patrick McTier age 19, Demetri Lakwan Parrish age 20, Alxavier Reshad Hall age 17. All were charged with Burglary. Also involved in Burglary was a Juvenile that was turned over to Juvenile Justice and later released to family members.
 
05-24-14---Answered a call to Brown Street in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated missing from her residence is a 38 Caliber Rossi pistol.  Pistol was entered in GCIC. Investigation continues.
 
05-25-14---Answered a call to Hutcheson Road in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant stated a subject came to her residence and broke the back glass to her Ford Ranger pickup.  Subject left the residence before officer arrived.
 
05-25-14---Answered a call to Satilla Church Road in reference to a Domestic. Wife and estranged husband are in dispute over house and belongings. Wife was advised of legal action.
 
05-25-14---Answered a call to Cypress Drive in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated missing from his porch are two chairs valued at approximately $250 piece. Investigation continues.
 
05-25-14---A routine traffic stop on US#1 South led to the arrest of Jeffery Elias Blake age 61 of Douglas, Ga. Blake was charged with VGCS/ Hydrocodone, VGCS/Oxycodone, VGCS/Alzaproslam, DUI, Driving While License Suspended, Speeding, Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device, Reckless Driving, and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer.
 
05-25-14---Answered a call to Sweet Gum Lane in reference to a Domestic. Husband and wife had a verbal dispute. Husband left the residence before officer arrived.
 
05-26-14---Answered a call to Hokey Floyd Road in reference to a two vehicle accident. No injuries were reported
 
05-26-14---Answered a call to J R Harper Road in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant stated a subject came to her residence on a three-wheeler and hit her vehicle busting the head light. Subject left the residence before officer arrived.
 
05-26-14---Answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to Possible Suicide Threats. Subject was found at residence and stated he had taken several pills but had no plans to harm himself.
 
05-26-14---Answered a call to Wilson Crapps Bridge in reference to Abandon Lawn Mower. Complainant notified Sheriff’s Office Investigator of a John Deer Lawn Mower found under the bridge. Hood and blade deck to lawn mower is missing. Several agencies and individuals have been notified.  Investigation continues.
 
05-27-14---Answered a call to US#1 north in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
05-27-14---While officer was serving a probation warrant on subject it led to the arrest of Jada Starr Davis age 32 of Baxley. Davis was charged with VGCS, and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
 
05-27-14---Complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft on Ben Carter Road. Complainant stated her wallet was stolen from her vehicle.
 
05-27-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft that occurred on Red Dot Road.  Complainant stated a family member had stolen money from her residence. Investigation continues.
 
05-28-14---Answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated he is missing his wallet with $1,700.00 in currency in it from his residence.  Investigation Continues.
 
05-28-14---Answered a call to Pine Street Extension in reference to a Domestic.
Girlfriend and boyfriend had a verbal disagreement. Boyfriend agreed to leave the residence.
 
05-28-14---Answered a call to Hoppy Trail in reference to a Civil Matter. Wife and husband are in the process of a divorce and are disputing over house hold items.
 
05-28-14---Answered a call to Janis Street in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of Charles Edward Smith age 50 of Baxley. Smith was charged with Simple Battery/Family Violence.
 
05-28-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 144 in reference to an Abandon Vehicle.
Vehicle had been left in the ditch for several days, owner could not be located and vehicle was towed.
 
05-29-14---Answered a call to Cook Street in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of Angela Marie Skinner age 35 of Baxley. Skinner was charged with Simple Battery/Domestic Violence.

05-09-14---Answered a call to Hutcheson Road in reference to Theft of Services. Complainant stated she found where her neighbors were using her electricity to run the pump on their swimming pool. Complainant was advised of legal action to take.
 
05-10-14---Answered a call to Dyal School Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated several items were stolen from his property valued at $3,600.00.  Investigation continues.
 
05-10-14---While officers were at a residence on David Carter road to serve a warrant it led to the arrest of Jonathan Wayne Boatright age 29 of Baxley. Boatright was charged with VGCS/Meth.
 
05-11-14---Answered a call to Appling ER in reference to an Assault. Complainant stated he and a friend had a verbal dispute which led to a physical altercation being hit in the head with a pistol. Offender could not be located at time of incident. Investigation continues.
 
05-11-14---Answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to Cruelty to Animals. Complainant stated his neighbor shot his dog. Neighbor stated complainant’s dog was in his yard and growled at him.
 
05-11-14---Answered a call to Red Oak Road in reference to a Domestic.  Husband and wife had a verbal dispute. Husband had left the residence before officers arrived.
 
05-12-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report Forgery. Complainant stated a subject had stolen her check, forged her name and cashed the check at a local store. Investigation continues.
 
05-12-14---Answered a call to VP Lynch Road in reference to a Domestic.  Wife stated she and her husband had an altercation. Husband left the residence before officer arrived.
 
05-12-14---Answered a call to Hart Street/Surrency in reference to a Dispute. Complainant stated her neighbor confronted her about a chemical she was spraying outside.
 
05-12-14---Answered a call to Hatch Parkway north in reference to Harassing Calls.  Complainant stated her estranged husband was continuing to call and make threats towards her.
 
05-12-14---Answered a call to Wade Carter Lane in reference to Harassing Calls. Complainant stated her boyfriend is receiving calls from his ex-girlfriend that has a Good Behavior Warrant on her for Harassing Calls.  Complainant was advised of legal action her boyfriend can take.
 
05-13-14---Answered a call to Hatch Parkway north in reference to a Theft.  Complainant stated someone had stolen the radio and cd player from his trucks valued at approximately $650.00.  Investigation continues.
 
05-13-14---Answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant stated a cat jumped on his parked vehicle and several dogs attempted to get the cat and caused major damage to the vehicle.
 
05-14-14---Answered a call to South Main Street in reference to Entering Auto/Theft. Complainant stated he left his parked vehicle to do some on work on a building and when he returned to his vehicle he found his bank bag was missing that had a large amount of US currency in it. Investigation continues.

05-15-14---Answered a call to Cattle Gap Road in reference to a Civil Dispute. Complainant stated a subject was taking the motor from her vehicle.  Subject stated he had an agreement about the motor being paid for and agreement had been broken. Subject was advised of legal procedure to take to get motor back.
 
05-15-14---Answered a call to Doc McTier road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.

04-11-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report Threats.  Complainant stated a subject had beaten her and threatened her.  Complainant was advised of legal action.
 
04-11-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft. Complainant stated his ex-girlfriend had stolen his stove from his camper.  Complainant was advised of legal action he could take.
 
04-12-14---Answered a call to Courson Road in reference to Dispute of Neighbors Cats & Dogs.  Complainant stated his neighbors dogs was coming to his yard harassing his cats, neighbor stated complainant’s cats were coming to her yard. Both parties were advised to keep their animals in their own yards.
 
04-12-14---Answered a call to Morris Landing in reference to Unruly Subject.  Officers arrived and found it to be a misunderstanding between subjects and were resolved.
 
04-12-14---Answered a call to Russell Road in reference to a Theft.  Complainant stated his Weedeater Lawnmower was stolen.  Investigation revealed the lawnmower was stolen by Eric Prescott and later sold to another subject who did not know it was a stolen lawnmower.  Warrant was taken on Eric Prescott for theft by taking. Lawnmower was returned to owner.
 
04-13-14---Answered a call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to a Burglary. Residence was found to have a window pushed out.  Owner was notified and stated nothing was missing inside the residence.
 
04-13-14---Answered a call to Pickett Road in reference to Unruly Subject which led to the arrest of Darielel Sanchez age 33 of Baxley.  Sanchez was charged with Disorderly Conduct.
 
 
 
04-13-14---Answered a call to Pickett Road in reference to a Civil Matter. Complainant stated his landlord gave him a notice to be out of his trailer. Complainant complied but returned three days later to pick up his 50” TV and it was gone.  Complainant was advised of legal action he could take.
 
04-14-14---Answered a call to Tim Crosby Road in reference to Theft. Complainant stated a family member had taken several tools valued at $500.00 and would not return them.
 
04-14-14---Answered a call to Bud Miles Road in reference to a Civil Matter.
Complainant stated her neighbor stole her water pump. Neighbor stated it was her water pump. Both subjects stated they had paid receipts for the pump. Both were advised of legal action they could take.
 
04-14-14---Answered a call to Gardner Road in reference to Suicide Threat.
Subject with a knife stated he wanted to kill himself. Subject was taken to Appling ER for evaluation.
 
04-14-14---Answered a call to Golden Isles in reference to a Theft.  Complainant stated his Aluminum Diamond Plate Gang Box with tools inside valued at $1,000.00 was stolen from his property.  Investigation continues.
 
04-15-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 144 in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
04-15-14---Answered a call to Miles Chapel Church Road in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated she found where someone had entered her residence by a back window and completely destroyed her home and took several items.  Investigation continues.
 
04-15-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report Financial Fraud. Complainant stated he received a package from FedEx he did not order and checked his credit card and found unknown person had made a person purchase with his card. Investigation continues.
 
04-15-14---Answered a call to April Lane in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated subject had hit her son and cut and shot her dog.  Complainant was advised of legal action she could take.
 
04-16-14---Answered a call to a local business in reference to Counterfeit Check.
Storeowner stated subject made a purchase of over $500.00 with a check and check came back counterfeit. Investigation Continues.
04-16-14---Answered a call to Buckhead Road in reference to Dog Bite. Complainant stated while trying to break up a fight with his dog and his neighbor’s dog he got bit by neighbor’s dog.  Neighbor was advised to keep his dog in his yard.
 
04-16-14---Answered a call to Arbor Drive in reference to Harassment/Possible Child Abuse.  Complainant stated her ex-husband’s wife is mistreating her children when they have them for visitation and also receiving threatening phone calls from her.  DFACS was notified.
 
04-16-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Civil Matter. Complainant stated he let an individual work on his car over a year ago and gave him money to buy parts, and now subject will not even let him see his vehicle. Complainant was advised of the legal action he would need to procure.
 
 
04-17-14---Answered a call to Lake Chapel Road/Bristol, Ga. in reference to Unresponsive Subject.  Family member found Mr. William J. Deal age 80 unresponsive. Appling EMS notified Coroner. Coroner stated Mr. Deal died from natural causes.
 
04-17-14---Answered a call to Pines Mobile Home Park in reference to Harassment. Complainant stated a subject has been threatening to beat her up.  Officer spoke with subject and advised her to stay away from complainant.
 
04-17-14---Answered a call to Brown Street in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated someone had stolen her Red nose Pit-bull female dog and received anonymous information someone was trying to sell her. Complainant notified Sheriff’s Office on 4-18-14 and stated her dog had been returned.
 
04-17-14---A routine traffic stop on Red Oak Road led to the arrest of Jason Walter Nelson age 38 of Baxley. Nelson was charged with VGCSA/Cocaine.
 
04-17-14---Answered a call to Clay Circle in reference to a Prowler. Complainant stated she saw three males in her back yard and when they saw her they ran into the woods.

04-04-14---Answered a call to Fireline Road in reference to Scam Attempt.
Complainant stated an unknown subject called on the phone trying to get her to give her personal information to them stating she had been approved for a loan.
PLEASE BEWARE OF SCAMS.
 
04-04-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft. Complainant stated his semi-auto handgun was missing from his residence. Complainant did not know make, model or serial number at time of report. You need to record the name, make, model and serial number on your guns in case of being lost or stolen.
 
04-04-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report Threats. Complainant stated a subject had made threats against him on Facebook. Complainant was advised of legal action he could take.
 
04-06-14---Answered a call to Ben Carter Road which led to the arrest of Stephen Lee Courson age 56 of Baxley, Becky Elaine Courson age 42 of Baxley, Patricia Christine Anderson age 36 of Baxley and James Raymond Evans age 40 of Baxley. All were charged with VGCSA/Methamphetamine, VGCSA/Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Related Objects. Becky Elaine Courson was also charged with Crossing Guard Lines with Drugs.
 
04-06-14---Answered a call to Convenience Store/Surrency in reference to Gas Drive Off. Store clerk stated subject put $75.00 worth of gas in vehicle and drove off.
04-07-14---An on going investigation by Appling County Drug Investigator for subject receiving prescription drug from several different doctors in same period of time led to the arrest of Stacey Earl Mobley age 40 of Baxley.  Mobley was charged with six counts VGCSA, Obtaining Controlled Substances by Fraud.
 
04-07-14---Answered a call to Hart Street/Surrency in reference to Damage to Property.  Complainant stated a male subject came to her residence and kicked her back door open. Subject then left the residence.
 
04-07-14---Answered a call to Jake Moody Road in reference to Illegal Dumping. Ten Tires were found dumped on property. DNR Ranger was notified and investigation continues. 
 
04-07-14---Answered a call to Hwy. 15 in reference to a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
 
04-07-14---Answered a call to Alvin Moody road in reference to a one-vehicle accident.  No injuries were reported.
 
04-08-14---During court at the Appling County Court House a subject was found to be P.U.I.   Thomas Peyton Miles age 50 of Baxley was arrested and charged with P.U.I and VGCSA.
 
04-08-14---Answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident.  No injuries were reported.
 
04-08-14---Answered a call to O’Quinn Road in reference to Cruelty to Animal. Complainant stated horse looks to be malnutrition ribs and bones are visible. Investigation revealed that the horse had food and water.
 
04-08-14---Answered a call to Hilton Baxley Road in reference to Livestock Killed. Complainant stated 16 of her goats valued at $500 each were killed by three large dogs.
 
04-08-14---Answered a call to Caney Creek Road in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant stated he found a hole in his fence believed to be a bullet hole.
 
04-09-14---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft. Complainant stated he is missing his 22MG LR pistol from his residence. Gun was entered in GCIC as being stolen.
 
04-09-14---Answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to Unruly Subject.
Complainant stated an employee was given his payroll check and termination notice. Employee became irate. Complainant was advised of legal action to be taken if charges were to be pursued.
 
04-09-14---A routine traffic stop on Poor Robin Road led to the arrest of James Lee Bennett, Jr. age 21 of Screven, Ga. Bennett was charged with Speeding and Possession of Marijuana.
 
04-10-14---Answered a call to Bobby Morris Road in reference to Trespassing which led to the arrest of Caitlin Ashley Branson age 22 of Baxley.  Branson was charged with  Interference with the performance of Ranger Duties, and VGCS/Marijuana.
 
04-10-14---Answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to Damage to Property.  Complainant stated unknown person(s) had damaged her door by trying to pry the door open. 
 
04-10-14---While Deputy was assisting a State Probation Officer make an arrest of Christopher Randolph Daniels on Bay Street,  it also led to the arrest of Rosa Diana Taylor age 33 of Baxley.  Taylor was charged with Obstruction of an Officer. Daniels had an active Probation Warrant for Ware County.
