SAVANNAH, GA (March 20, 2020): Savannah Police Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 539 E. Henry Lane this morning. When officers arrived on scene they found a person suffering from gunshot wounds, unresponsive in the lane. The subject was immediately transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation resulted in Kahiri Heyward, the resident of 539 E. Henry Lane, being arrested and charged with Murder.
Heyward has been transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.
There are no other suspects outstanding from this case and it appears to be an isolated incident.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
