Jesup Police Department Reports Results of Concentrated Patrol

Chief Perry Morgan of the Jesup Police Department would like to announce that on Friday June 18th, 2021 a concentrated patrol was conducted in the City of Jesup.
The concentrated patrol was in response to the multiple violent crimes that occurred on June 16th, 2021 in Jesup and Wayne County. The Jesup Police Department’s Chief Perry Morgan asked several surrounding agencies for assistance with the concentrated patrol, and they were all willing to assist.
The Jesup Police Department’s Patrol Division, The Jesup / Wayne Tactical Narcotics Team, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, The Bacon County Sheriff’s Office, The Long County Sheriff’s Office, The McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, The Alma Police Department, and The Georgia State Patrol all sent deputies and officers to assist with the operation.
The Concentrated Patrol was an attempt to increase Police presence to hopefully deter the continuation of violent crime. During the operation, Two DUI’s and Five Felony Drug Cases were made resulting in the seizure of Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, Controlled Pharmaceuticals, THC Oil, and Marijuana.
Chief Perry Morgan would like to extend a special thanks to Wayne County 911. Our 911 center handles all 911 and other calls for service as well as all radio traffic for Fire, EMS, Wayne SO and Jesup PD. They are the professionals that continue to keep public safety operating smoothly throughout all of the chaos that occurs during special operations and other high-volume activities and incidents.
Chief Perry Morgan initiated this patrol to protect the community and encourage the citizens of The City of Jesup and Wayne County that his department will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that Jesup and Wayne County continue to be a safe and enjoyable place to live.
