Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service of Gretchen “Necie” Kersey, age 44, who passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Ms. Kersey was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a storeroom clerk with Interfor since 2013, a previous employee with Walmart of Baxley and Dairy Queen of Baxley. Necie was a member of the Appling County High School Class of 1996 and loved all her pets.
Ms. Kersey is preceded in death by her father, Willie Kersey Sr.; grandparents, Buck and Louise Kersey, W.L. and Beulah Holton; and an uncle Tommy Holton.
Necie was joined by her mother, Karen Sue kersey who passed away Thursday morning at her residence in Baxley.
Surviving is her brother, Willie “Pedro” Kersey (Jennifer); three nieces, Brittany Kersey (Diego Aguiar), Leah Kersey, and Olivia Kersey; aunts, uncles, and other family members also survive.
The graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. from Omega Cemetery with Reverend Charles Smith officiating.
The visitation will be held on Sunday beginning at 1:00 P.M. from the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel.
The Kersey family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Freda Gruber, Dairy Queen of Baxley, ACHS Class of 1996, Walmart of Baxley, Interfor and Lisa Byrd by recognizing them as Honorary Pallbearers.
