Peggy Ruth Dean Luke, age 91, of Baxley passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at The Pavilion.
Mrs. Luke was born April 25, 1931 in Appling County to the late Horace Dean and the late Myra Carter Dean. She was a retired seamstress, having worked at Miller Western Wear and Ship-n-Shore. She was an active member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church where she served as Training Union Director, Sunday School teacher, bus driver, and various other capacities. Mrs. Luke was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and former curator of the Appling County Heritage Center. She also served as a volunteer for the Ladies Auxiliary of Appling Healthcare System. Mrs. Luke was preceded in death by her husband, Eston Luke.
Survivors include her daughters, Guynell (Jack) Davis and Diane (Charles) Hutcheson; son, Mike (Diane) Luke; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Justin McLellan, Rev. Charles Hutcheson, and Rev. Dusty Allen officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
