Incident on Railroad Tracks in Baxley

Shortly before 1:00 pm on Friday, February 17th, Franklin Thornton died after being struck by a freight train in Baxley. This incident occurred as Thornton was walking on the stretch of track between Copeland and Doris Streets. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On the early afternoon of February 17th, an incident was reported to have occurred on the railroad tracks in Baxley, apparently on the stretch between Copeland and Doris Streets. This incident may have resulted in the death of an individual.
