On Wednesday, July 08, 2026, the Appling County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old, Richard Carl Altman of Baxley, Georgia for Illegal Transmission of Monetary Funds. These charges originated in Livingston Parish, Louisiana.
The Appling County Sheriff’s Office has numerous open investigations involving the Altmans and their businesses. These investigations are being worked in conjunction with other departments within the State of Georgia and multiple agencies located in other states.
