Preparations for Orange Crush on Tybee

Now that Orange Crush is just a couple of days away preparations are in full swing.
Dozens of law enforcement officers from across the state will be sworn in as temporary members of Tybee’s Police force, but this year safety preps aren’t just being done by the police department.
Orange Crush promoters and organizers are pushing a new “Zero-Tolerance, No Guns, No Violence, No Drunk Driving” initiative they hope will keep the spring breakers safe, and show neighbors on Tybee they don’t condone dangerous behavior.
“We do not tolerate or endorse any of the violence or the guns whatsoever,” said promoter George Turner. “I want them to know that we’re working to make this a bigger event, we want to make this a better event, and we want to make this a safer event.”
Turner says arrangements were made with Uber for extra divers to be brought to the area during the weekend, so partiers don’t even have to consider getting behind the wheel drunk.
