Pam Williams visits Appling Elementary

On February 1, 2016, Pam Williams, Education Outreach Coordinator for Governor Nathan Deal, visited Selena Head and Nicole Carter’s third-grade classroom. Mrs. Williams was able to observe students as they worked. Mrs. Williams then spoke to some of the Third Graders about the Governor. Students learned interesting facts about the Governor and learned about the different jobs he performs on a daily basis. Baylie Shumans, one of our third-grade students, had this to say about Mrs. Williams’ visit, “She was very encouraging, and she made people laugh.” Baylie was referring to the story that Mrs. Williams read, “The Book With No Pictures.” Mrs. Williams also read a children’s book written by Malcom Mitchell, the University of Georgia football wide receiver. Mrs. Williams visited other classrooms to observe the awesome learning and activities going on throughout Appling County Elementary. Mrs. Williams also met with Principal Debra Crosby, Assistant Principal Tami Murphy, and Superintendent Scarlett Copeland. The third graders enjoyed Mrs. Williams coming, and they appreciate her time and visit at Appling County Elementary School.
