Suspect on the loose after 55 guns stolen from Bulloch County store

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is on high alert after over $25,000 worth of guns were stolen from Backwoods Armory, located in the 20000 block of U.S. 80 East.
Deputies responded to the store around 10 a.m. on Thursday. They contacted the owner of the store, who indicated that an unknown suspect had broken a window to get inside overnight, stealing the firearms. The sheriff’s office says they received no alarm notification from the location.
An inventory check revealed that 55 handguns and long guns were stolen. Video surveillance showed a black male committing the theft.
The threat of so many firearms poses a clear danger to public safety in the area.
Investigators are working with agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to solve this crime. They need the public’s help to do so.
