Conviction and Sentence Handed Down for 2014 Savannah Murder

On October 2, 2014, Benjamin Webber was gunned down on Hawthorne Street in Savannah. Arrested in connection with the attack was Alvonte “Mookie” Mack. Mack was 18 at the time.
Webber later died of his injuries. Therefore, along with assault and firearm charges, Mack faced a count of malice-murder.
On Wednesday, July 13, 2016, Mack was convicted and sentenced to life in prison plus five years.
