On October 5, 2015, a five-car wreck on North Boulevard in Baxley resulted in the death of Casey Davis. The wreck happened after an 18-wheeler driven by Joseph Jordan lost control and crashed into oncoming traffic. Casey Davis, a 21-year-old who worked part-time as a 911 dispatcher, lost her life. Three other people were injured.
Recently, Jordan was indicted on charges stemming from the accident, including two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of DUI, reckless driving, and three counts of serious injury by vehicle.
