What: Georgia DOT is removing contraflow operations from Dublin-Laurens County to US301/Exit 116 in Statesboro-Bulloch County and preparing to return I-16 to the normal configuration both east and west bound travel lanes. Eastbound lanes will be closed from US 301/ Exit 116 in Statesboro to Savannah. No vehicles will be allowed access to I-16 eastbound lanes beginning at US301 except emergency and first responders. All eastbound lanes from US 301/Exit 116 to Savannah will be restricted to use by those state and federal agencies responding to Hurricane Matthew and to service providers such as Georgia Power necessary in the relief efforts.
When: Beginning at 12:30 PM today contraflow will be disengaged. I-16 eastbound at US 301Exit 116 to Savannah will remain closed until further notice.
