11-03-16—Answered a call to Allen Harvey Drive in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated someone entered his building and stole two of his rifles. Investigation led to information on the subject that took the guns. Christopher Owen Byrne age 33 of Baxley was arrested on November 4, 2016 and charged with Possession of Arms by Convicted Felon and Obstruction of an Officer on a previous case. Complainant is taking warrants for Burglary on current charges. One of the rifles was recovered and returned to the owner/complainant.
11-04-16—Answered a call to Lamar Crosby Road in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated a family member would not pay rent which led to an argument. Family member left the residence before officer arrived.
11-04-16—Answered a call to Satilla Church Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-04-16—A routine traffic stop on Jake Moody Road led to parents being called in reference to their fifteen year old daughter. Daughter was charged with underage drinking and open container in vehicle. Charges were turned over to Department of Juvenile Justice. Juvenile was turned over to parents.
11-05-16—A routine check of Ball Field at County Farm Road led to parents being called from Douglas, Ga. Two male juveniles from Douglas, Ga. were found in possession of alcohol under age, and drinking on County property. Charges were turned over to Department of Juvenile Justice. Juveniles were turned over parents.
11-05-16—Answered a call to Graham Zoar Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated someone has stolen his 12 foot Fish Master Aluminum john boat from his pond. Boat information was entered into GCIC. Investigation continues.
11-05-16—Answered a call to Daisy Lane in reference to Mail Theft. Complainant stated he believes someone is taking his mail from his mail box. Investigation continues.
11-05-16—Answered a call to Pond Loop Road in reference to a Domestic. Husband and wife had a verbal dispute. Both parties stated they could settle their dispute.
11-06-16—Answered a call to County Farm Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-06-16—Answered a call to Cameron Road in reference to a Burnt Vehicle/Theft. Deputies found a vehicle that had been burnt. Owner of the burnt vehicle was notified and owner found his storage bin had been broken into with items being stolen and burnt as well. Investigation continues.
11-07-16—Complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report Inappropriate Text. Complainant stated she found on her grandson’s Dell tablet where a thirty-one year old male had been texting her fourteen year old grandson inappropriate material. This case was turned over to GBI, investigation led to warrants being secured for the arrest of Rodney Sha Ron Wiggins age 30 of Vidalia. Wiggins was charged with Child Molestation.

11-07-16—Answered a call to Miles Beckworth Road/Bridge in reference to Vandalism. Complainant found where subject/s had spray painted obscene language on the bridge. Investigation continues.
11-07-16—Answered a call to Hwy. 144 in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-07-16—Answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-07-16—Answered a call to Appling Co. Recreation Facility in reference to an Injured Subject. Victim was picking up trash with a John Deere Gator and got distracted and struck a metal pole ejecting him from the Gator. Victim was transported to Appling ER and treated for injuries.
11-08-16—Answered a call to West River Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-08-16—A routine traffic stop on Holt Rentz Road led to the arrest of James Bernard Silverberg age 55 of Hazlehurst, and Melvin Lee Williams age 34 of Baxley. Silverberg was charged with DUI/Alcohol, Improper Tag Display, and Open Container in Vehicle. Williams was charged with Possession of Marijuana.
11-09-16—Answered a call to Bass Reef Road in reference to Harassment. Complainant stated her ex-husband continues to come to her house harassing her.
11-09-16—Answered a call to Sweet Gum Lane in reference to a Domestic call which led to the arrest of Hunter Dillon Reese age 18 of Baxley. Reese was charged with Simple Battery.
11-09-16—Answered a call to Lawana Drive in reference to an Assault. Complainant stated two male subjects came to his residence and started a fight with him. Both subjects had left the residence before officer arrived. One of the male subjects age seventeen was later found, arrested and charged with Furnishing, Purchasing, and Possession of Alcoholic Beverage Below Legal Age.
11-09-16—Answered a call to Miles Road in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant stated someone had struck his mailbox.
11-10-16—Answered a call to Holt Rentz Road in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated her friend and her boyfriend were arguing, boyfriend had a gun waving it around. Boyfriend left the residence before officers arrived.
