Douglas Police Ask for Public Assistance in Search for Suspect

Douglas Police Chief Gary Casteloes released the following:

On 03-23-2017 at approx. 1142 Hrs. Officers from the Douglas Police Dept. responded to 600 block of S. Daughtry Ave. in reference to a possible gunshot wound. On arrival, Officers learned that the 31-year-old, Ahmad Rashad Cross had been shot at the location and was transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. An Officer responded to the Coffee Regional Medical Center to make contact with the Victim and access his condition. Initial information obtained indicates that the person responsible for the shooting is 37 year old, Ronnie Manning Jr. Manning who fled the scene prior to Officers arrival. A search of the area was conducted but as of this time, Manning has not been located. Manning is described as a black male, 5’11” tall, weighing approx. 220 pounds. He was seen fleeing the scene wearing a gray in color sweatshirt and dark colored pants.
