Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating the shooting of Edward Mells, 32, on Sunday, Apr. 16 near the intersection West 54th Street and Barnard Street.
At about 2:50 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 3600 block of Barnard Street. Mells was found with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and transported to the hospital.
The actual circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Detectives believe this was not a random incident.
