Savannah Metro Responds to Crash Involving School Bus

PRESS RELEASE
SAVANNAH, GA. (April 27, 2017): The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Islands Precinct officers responded to a three vehicle wreck involving a school bus on Pennsylvania Avenue and Capital Street at about 7:15 a.m. Apr. 27.
Jedson Smith, 51, proceeded through a red light striking a school bus occupied with students. Upon impact with the bus, Smith lost control of his vehicle, striking a black Infiniti.
Three students were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Smith and a passenger in the Infiniti were both transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries as well.
Smith was cited with failure to maintain lane, failure to obey a traffic control light and driving too fast for the conditions.

This case remains under investigation.
