EGSC students attend Eggs & Issues Legislative Breakfast

On Saturday, February 10, 2018, students from East Georgia State College attended the annual Eggs & Issues Legislative Breakfast at Emanuel Medical Center.
Accompanied by Professor Randy Carter, students representing the EGSC Correll Scholars, EGSC Ambassadors, EGSC Student Government, EGSC Athletics and EGSC Government classes were able to hear more about the legislative process and how it affects our rural Georgia communities.  The students asked questions on many topics and were able to talk afterward with Senator Jack Hill and Representative Butch Parrish regarding the latest developments from session in Atlanta.

Attending this year were Carley Stapleton, Kimberly McKinney, Brianna Clay, Susanna Hall, Becky Mason, Jazzmyn Cox, Marissa Meeks, Taylor Culp, Kaleb Youmans, Jillian Edenfield, Cameron Chalker, Kholton Hamman, and Shawn Smith. Also attending were EGSC President Dr. Bob Boehmer and his wife, Joyce, Professor Emeritus of History Dr. John Derden and his wife, Carolyn, and VP for Institutional Advancement Elizabeth Gilmer.
“The Eggs and Issues session demonstrates why I am so optimistic about the future of our region,” said Dr. Boehmer. “We have a highly knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated legislative delegation now, and we have outstanding college students poised to become our leaders of the future.”
