Appling County School District and our 4 Elementary Schools were thrilled to be named recipients of the $MART Grant Award from Satilla REMC! Superintendent Copeland stated, “We truly appreciate partners like Satilla REMC who are constantly giving back to our Schools and Community! Mr. Bobby Lewis and Bruce Rentz have been long standing supporters of providing these opportunities for our schools and we commend them for their efforts! We also appreciate Matt Parker, their newest member working in this area with schools!”
The Satilla REMC Foundation established the $MART Grant Program to assist media specialists and their smart students at schools within Satilla REMC’s service area. This grant money for Appling County will be utilized by ACPS, ACES, FDES, and AES’s Media Specialist in their respective schools for our students. The Satilla REMC Foundation and Satilla REMC sponsor the $mart Grant Program. The Foundation administers the Smart Change Program in which the Cooperative’s Members volunteer to “round up” their power bills to the nearest whole dollar. The change goes directly to the Satilla REMC Foundation, a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing educational opportunities for students in Satilla’s service area. Satilla REMC is a not-for-profit, consumer-owned power cooperative providing electricity to more than 52,000 accounts in Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Coffee, Jeff Davis, Pierce, Ware and Wayne counties.
