TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
FOR APPLING COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL’S CLASS OF 2020 SENIOR ACTIVITIES
Pending no additional federal or state guidelines regarding COVID-19
Dear Class of 2020 Students, Parents, Guardians, and Families,
This correspondence is intended to update you as we continue to plan for Senior activities and the graduation ceremony for the Appling County High School Class of 2020. As Georgia begins to re-open, we still must adhere to specific guidelines for the assembly of large crowds. Our graduation ceremony consistently attracts crowds of 2,000-3,000 people.
With this in mind, based on guidance from Governor Brian Kemp, the Georgia Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control we will follow this tentative schedule for Senior events.
- Saturday, July 25, 2020 Junior/Senior Prom
- Wednesday, July 29, 2020 Baccalaureate
- Thursday, July 30, 2020 Senior Honors Night
- Friday, July 31, 2020 Graduation, 7:30 PM, Jimmy Swain Stadium
- Saturday, August 1, 2020 Make up Day for Graduation
The updates and changes to the COVID-19 situation remain very fluid. As such, our response to important events like graduation will continually update. If for some reason July 31, 2020 does not work, we will do our best to schedule a later time to host a traditional graduation ceremony for our seniors. We are committed to providing this honor to our seniors, whenever safety conditions allow.
