ACHS announces plan for athletics

Appling County High School has released an action plan for the upcoming football season.  PLEASE NOTE there will not be any ticket sales at the game.
 

ACTION PLAN

FOR ATHLETIC COMPETITION

 
 

  • Game Day Protocol

 

  • Follow GHSA, CDC, DPH and local school BOE protocols for COVID-19
    • Recommending social distancing of 6 feet or more
    • Fans temperature will be checked prior to entering the game
    • It is highly recommended for fans to Wear Face masks at all times
    • Temperatures will be done for all players, coaches, cheerleaders, band members, school staff, and volunteers prior to the game
    • All gate workers will wear gloves and face mask
    • Install signage at all entry portals to read the following:
    • If you are exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19 please do not enter the stadium.
      • Fever or chills
      • Cough
      • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      • Fatigue
      • Muscle or body aches
      • Headache
      • New loss of taste or smell
      • Sore throat
      • Congestion or runny nose
      • Nausea or vomiting
      • Diarrhea
    • Fans are not to interact with players on the field or dugouts or sidelines
    • Observe proper hygiene at all times prior to and during the athletic contest
    • Continually announce before and during the contest the aforementioned recommendations for safety precautions

 

  • Develop Ingress / Egress Plan for Stadium
    • Use multiple entrances and exits and discourage crowded waiting areas.

 

  • On Site Logistics

 

  • Eliminate lines or queues if possible or encourage people to stay at least 6 feet apart by providing signs or other visual cues such as tape or chalk marks
  • Provide physical guides, such as tape on floors or sidewalks and signs on walls, to ensure that individuals remain at least 6 feet apart in lines and at other times (such as guides for creating one-way routes).
  • Line Queues at all Rest Room entrances
  • Posted signage acknowledging that there is a possibility of getting disease (Liability)
  • Multiple Hand Sanitizing Stations placed at specific points around sporting event
  • Highly recommended the wearing of Face Mask at sporting events

 

  • Concession Stands
    • Concessions will continue to be run by booster clubs to support local programs
    • Temperatures will be checked of all concession stand workers
    • Masks and gloves will be worn for workers in the concession area
    • Grilled items will be individually wrapped
    • Condiments will be in a packet form or foot pump
    • Only bottled drinks will be served

 

  • Ticket Sales
    • Limited seating of 75% of stadium capacity
    • There would be NO RESERVED seating section to better encourage proper social distancing
    • A predetermined amount of tickets would be sent to the opposing team each game week
    • The bands from both schools (if attending) and season tickets sales will be deducted from the predetermined amount of ticket sales
    • NO TICKET SALES AT THE GAME on Friday nights
      • ACHS front office, Monday-Friday, 9:00-1:30
    • Drive thru, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, 5:00-7:00
    • Drive thru, Friday afternoon 3:30-5:00
      • Three gates would be open to allow fans into stadium. Two workers and an SRD at each gate to ensure fans have presold ticket in hand
        • Back gate/bus ramp for Parking Pass holders
        • Front main gate
        • Visitor gate at band concession stand at east end zone
      • Gold cards for senior citizens will be honored.
      • GOAL cards for students will be honored.
