Appling County Veteran’s Day Parade

  1. Early Morning:  At 0700 (0645 showtime) the Lions’ Club will place the flags around the entire block at the courthouse.  The JROTC will support this activity along with any other group/organization by assisting the Lions with placing the flags in the designated spots.  After all the flags are in place, we will assemble on the east steps of the courthouse for a group photo.  Cadets will need to be in Red Polos and Jeans.
  1. The Parade will start at 1030 am with start point in the vicinity of the intersection of Copeland  Street and US 341.  Line-up/Staging of all vehicles and floats will take place south of the Railroad Tracks and then proceed up to the start point around 1028.  The Band and JROTC will assemble and start from Community Bank and/or Interstate Credit Union.  Cadet Uniform:  Class B
  2. The Ceremony, sponsored by the Rotary Club,  will start at 1100 immediately following the end of the parade into the parking lot on the West side of the Courthouse.  Jonathan Fennel is this year’s guest speaker.  Hanah Cortes is this year’s Master of Ceremonies.  Mary Tomberlin will deliver In Flanders Fields.  The ACHS Band and/or the Chorus will perform the National Anthem and America Beautiful during the ceremony.  Additionally, the ACHS Band will select 2 trumpeters to play Taps.  At the end of the ceremony ALL Veterans should be gathered in a group in front of the crowd and remain there for the yearly group photo.
