Cecil Delano Brown – 74

Cecil Delano Brown, age 74, of Bristol passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 in Douglas.
Mr. Brown was born on January 7, 1948 in Hazlehurst to the late Tom Lewis Brown and the late Idell Tompkins Brown. He was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of the Southeast Georgia Beekeepers Association and Queen Raiser. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the United States Army having received the National Defense Service medal, Good Conduct Medal Expert M-14 and the 32nd Signal Battalion. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Prentice Brown, Lamar Brown and Raymond Brown.
Survivors include his wife Kathryn Brown of Bristol; daughter, Michelle B. (Jason) Sweat of Bristol; son, Cecil Allen (Redlyn) Brown of Waycross; sister, Ann Lough of Hazlehurst; sisters in law, Helen Jowers of Ambrose, Barbara (David) Hersey of Broxton, Betty (Paul) Hersey of Douglas, Linda (Tony) Bagley of Sparks and Gloria (John) Ketchum of Bethlehem. Grandchildren, Liam Sweat, Lauren “Honey” Sweat, Brandon Raffield and Caleb Raffield; and great grandchildren, Carson Raffield and Luke Raffield. A host of nieces, nephews, special friends Marco, Poncho, Ismael and co-workers also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Sarasola and Rev. David Young officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Hersey, Matthew Hersey, Blake Hersey, Lamar Dale, Stan Harris and Mark Boyette. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, neighbors, special friends Marco, Poncho, Ismael and co-workers.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
