Billy Joe “BJ” Crapps

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. Billy Joe “BJ” Crapps, age 63, who passed away on Monday, February 21, 2023, at Memorial Health in Savannah. BJ was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, he retired from Hazlehurst Mills and Claxton Poultry. He loved playing softball and fishing.
Mr. Crapps is preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Mamie Crapps; one brother, Ronnie Crapps, granddaughter, Georgia Jewel Crapps, and a nephew, Robbie Jerome Crapps, Jr.
Surviving is his wife, Latrelle Crapps; six children, Dewayne Crapps (Staci), Christy Crapps, April Crapps (Norris Wallace), Jody Crapps (Karen), K’leb Crapps (Amber), and Amy Crapps (Chris Norman); fourteen grandchildren, Jonathan Crapps (Cana), Chandler Crapps, Ree Smith, Gage Nail, Peyton Crapps, Rebecca Crapps, Tucker Crapps, J.C. Crapps, Lily Crapps, Andrew Hutchinson (Mallie), Karter Crapps, Kohen Crapps, Jaslyn Norman, and Jeilen Norman; a great granddaughter, Raelynn Hutchinson; a brother, Charlie Crapps (Barbara), and a very special nephew, Jerome Crapps (Stephanie) also survive.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. from the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Henry Jones, Derrick Jones, and Pastor Darron Jackson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Midway Church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Nobles Funeral Home Chapel.
Active Pallbearers are Jerome Crapps, K’leb Crapps, Dewayne Crapps, Jonathan Crapps, Jody Crapps, and Norris Wallace.
Honorary Pallbearers are the softball family, the co-workers at Woody Folsom, Lynn Hale, and Dr. Tonya Fordham.
