Catherine Rebecca Stone, age 85, of Baxley, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Harborview Pierce County in Blackshear.
Ms. Stone was born August 26, 1938, in Hinesville to the late Shepard Ray and the late Opal Lewis Ray. She was a retired seamstress with Ship-N-Shore and was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Stone; brother, Johnny Ray, and five sisters, Frankie Carter, Edna Mae Sellers, Annie Mae Burdette, Beatrice Talley, and Rosia Lee Herrin.
Survivors include her daughters, Janice (James) Bailey of Hazlehurst and Lori (Barry) Lewis of Baxley; sons, Bob (Linda) Stone of Baxley and Jesse (Teresa) Stone of Baxley; brothers, Howard (Faye) Ray of Hazlehurst, James (Sara) Ray of Waycross, and Walter (Carol) Ray of Valdosta. Ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Altamaha Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Hutcheson, Rev. Stacey Stone, and Rev. Bryant Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Parker Lewis, Eric Stone, Bobby Stone, Mason Stone, Hunter Smith, and Kasey Stone.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
