Raymond Marvin Wright

Raymond Marvin Wright passed away on December 26, 2023 at the age of 52 in Hazlehurst, Georgia.

Ray was born on November 7, 1971 in Jacksonville, Florida to William Peter (Pete) Wright and the late Wanda Brandies Taylor. Over the course of his life, Ray became a skilled dairy farmer and cattleman. He was also well versed in mechanics, construction, and as a lineman. Most who knew him well would describe Ray was a man with a tough and determined exterior but a kind and compassionate spirit. Ray made a profession of faith and was baptized as a child at the First Baptist Church of Callahan. Though he endured many hardships in this life, Ray maintained his love and faith in Jesus Christ.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Wright and by his mother, Wanda Brandies Taylor.

He is survived by his sons, Blake Wright of Green Cove Springs, Florida and Garrette (Anabel) Wright also of Green Cove Springs; daughter, Darrian (Hunter) Hall of Brunswick; grandson, Asher Hall; and a granddaughter, Esmeralda Rosalia Wright, who is expected to arrive in April of 2024. His parents, Pete and Glenda Wright of Baxley; grandmother, Shirley Aspinwall of Baxley; brothers, Billy (Cindy) Wright of Alma, Levi (Ashley) Wright of Baxley, Axel (Ariel) Wright of Arago, OR, Bart Brandies of Key Stone Heights, FL; sisters, Jessica (Brian) Boone of Charlotte, NC, Samantha (Jamie) Hall of Baxley, and Priscilla Brandies of Key Stone Heights, FL. Ray is also survived by a multitude of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Daniels officiating.

Interment will follow in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
