Shirley McLeod Rouse, age 86, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at Community Hospice House in Vidalia.
Mrs. Rouse was born January 12, 1938 to the late Ivey McLeod and the late Mary Myrtice McLeod. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and was retired as a bookkeeper from the Appling County Junior High School after 27 years of Service.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rouse was preceded in death by a brother, Howard McLeod.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald Rouse of Baxley; daughters, Donna (Tony) Butler of Baxley and Pam Stone of Johns Creek. Mrs. Rouse loved her grandchildren, Blake (Ashley) Stone, Brittany (David) Beckworth and Whitney (Justin) Sumner with all her heart, and her great grandchildren, Ivy, Tara, Ryker, and Julia, were the joy of her life; a sister-in-law, Reba McLeod of Vidalia, and many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Church of God Cemetery with the Reverend Dannie Hix and the Reverend Philip Lawson officiating.
