Sheriff Mark Melton requested assistance from outside law enforcement agencies to assist with the Block Party on Saturday, July 27th due to the expected influx of traffic and past history of violence and illegal activity. Law enforcement officers conducted 155 traffic stops, issued 34 traffic citations, and 137 written warnings were issued for various traffic offenses. 17 individuals were arrested for various charges including, driving under the influence, felony drug charges, and other various misdemeanor charges.
