Baxley City Council Meeting (January 3rd 2019)

CALLED COUNCIL MEETING
The called meeting of the Baxley City Council was held on January 3, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., with the following members present: Mayor Tim Varnadore; Councilmembers: Betty Livingston, Mickey Bass, Pat Williams, and Adam Thomas.
Mayor Pro Tem Esco Hall, Jr.; and Santina Fryer were excused.
Mayor Varnadore called the Baxley City Council to order on this the 3rd day of January 2019, at 6:00 p.m., the purpose of this meeting is to hear public comments on a petition filed by J. E. Holland Properties, requesting the property located on Beach Road, be rezoned from the current Single Family Residential (R-12) Zone to a Multi-Family Residential (RM-10) Zone in voting
district 6.
Members of the public that spoke unfavorably of the rezoning were: Monica McKnight, Mollie Herndon, and Charles Davis.
Woody Holland spoke in favor of the rezoning.
Mayor Varnadore explained to the public the process of a rezoning petition is to have a First and Second Reading allowing the Council to vote.
