SPD Investigates Murder-Suicide at Savannah Gardens

SAVANNAH, GA (October 16, 2019) – The Savannah Police Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a murder-suicide that occurred today at the Savannah Gardens apartment complex.
Around 8:40 a.m., officers responded to the apartment complex in the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on report of a shooting. Officers discovered Ashley Hunter, 32, and Deaundre Kent, 37, deceased. Upon further investigation, detectives determined that Kent fatally wounded Hunter before turning the gun on himself.
The incident remains under investigation.
