On Tuesday, January 21, 2020 members of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ethel McFarland, 67 years of age for Violation of Georgia Controlled Substance (VGCSA) – Manufacture, Possess, etc. Controlled or Counterfeit Substance Near Park or Housing Project (Possession with Intent to Distribute – Clonazepam, Schedule IV); Count Two (2) VGCSA – Manufacture, Possess, etc. Controlled or Counterfeit Substance Near Park or Housing Project (Sale of Oxycodone Hydrochloride – Schedule II ); VGCSA – Failure to Keep Drugs in Original Container; and Use of Communication Facility in Commission of a Felony. Sheriff Mark Melton and members of the Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate individuals and groups responsible for distributing drugs in our community.
